NATURAL ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) said hundreds have been in killed in North Korea after flash floods hit the country this year. An estimated 600,000 people require humanitarian assistance and at least 30,000 homes were damaged or destroyed, it added. IFRC said it has been working with North Korea's Red Cross Society to deliver emergency aid to affected communities. Footage filmed by the Red Cross showed temporary shelters housing those affected. The IFRC has launched a 15.2 million Swiss Francs ($15.6 million) emergency appeal to reach more than 300,000 with humanitarian assistance over the next 12 months.
