ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Foreign diplomats in the North Korean capital planted trees and visited an apartment construction site to mark tree-planting day on Thursday (March 2). Video provided to Reuters by North Korea's official news agency, KCNA, which Reuters cannot independently verify, showed foreign diplomats and representatives of international organizations including Russian Ambassador, Alexander Matsegora, planting trees in Ryomyong Street. In 1946, North Korean founder Kim Il Sung climbed Moran Hill on March 2 and planted a tree to restore damaged mountains after Japan's colonial rule, according to KCNA. Since then, North Korea has marked this day as a tree-planting day, the agency added.
