Officials say the worst is over, although the winds are still blowing hard in Belize. Tourists in many coastal hotels were forced out of their rooms after losing power. (SOUNDBITE) (English) UNIDENTIFIED U.S. TOURIST SAYING: "It was very scary. It was very scary. It was very windy. A lot of rain came into our room." (SOUNDBITE) (English) UNIDENTIFIED U.S. TOURIST SAYING: "The wind was very very strong. We saw the air conditioners on the roof coming apart, blowing across and projectiles from that, so, very dangerous." Earl had been a hurricane overnight, but by mid-morning, maximum sustained winds had dropped to 65 miles per hour.
