NATURAL ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Landslides and floods inundate parts of Sri Lanka for another day after a three month heat wave ends. Local TV footage showed part of a road collapsing, damaging homes and uprooting trees. Heavy rain lashed Sri Lanka for a third consecutive day on Tuesday leaving six people dead, two missing and thousands displaced, according to local media. People wading through flooded streets in the capital Colombo, as well as choppy waters of the Diyawanna Lake rising around the country's parliament complex. Local media says the country's president Maithripala Sirisena has deployed the armed forces to help cope with the emergency, which marks an end to a three-month-long heat wave. The weather department and disaster management agency have warned of further landslides and flash floods, and said rain could continue on the Indian Ocean island until Wednesday (May 18), local media says.
